Out of the Blue is a specialist Art Licensing company. We mainly represent decorative artists, fine artists and photographers who wish to market/license their work into the commercial arena.

We are especially interested in artists producing high quality fine art or photographs that are suitable for the interior design market i.e. for major hotels, restaurants and corporate office projects. These markets require work suitable essentially for high quality giclee reproductions on paper or canvas. Prints in this market sell for $100-$500 and more for large sizes so royalty revenue can be substantial for a successful series of images.

We are also involved in sourcing good fine art and decorative images suitable for the fine art poster/print/Home Décor market. We work with various quality publishers in this market and quite often we can place work in both markets on behalf of the artist ensuring always that the integrity of their work is maintained. We can also place work in other product categories if suitable.

The advantages and benefits of instigating a publishing program are:

1. Creating additional income for the artist/photographer other than their current income through sale of originals or their own publishing efforts.

2. Publishing can create national and international awareness throughout the art industry which can result in additional work. Exposure of this kind is very beneficial and can create higher demand and therefore higher prices for originals.

Those artists who are already publishing their own work often find that distribution is the main problem. That is why although you are only receiving a royalty, the clients we work with can sell much more inventory across a wider demographic. It also involves no work on behalf of the artist apart from creating the work itself and supplying digital files for reproduction.

If you wish to submit a presentation this can be done as follows:

1) Email initially up to 10-20 low res jpgs (150k or under for each image)
2) A CD presentation of up to 50 images as low res jpgs.
