Paco Rosic

Paco was born in Sarajevo, Bosnia under the name Evelin Rosic. He grew up in a suburb of the once magnificent capital city. His passion for art was noted in his early years as he was very artistic ever since he could hold a pencil.

In 1992 due to the civil war which emerged in Bosnia, Paco's family was forced to flee out of their homeland and moved to Germany. He lost everything he once knew, and he was forced to start a new life. Paco was fairly young at the time, so he was able to adapt quite easily. Once he began to make friends, he was introduced to the world of hip-hop and he found true love in this upbeat underground lifestyle. He was able to express his passion for art through graffiti and also used break-dancing to get more involved with the new culture.

He lost everything he knew once again when he moved to Waterloo, USA, and he fell into depression due to homesickness. He missed his lifestyle from Germany, so he made graffiti sketches and tried to improve his artistic skill at this time. Graffiti seemed like the only thing that held the two worlds together for him, and he soon emerged as a great artist. By living in a community with approximately 1000 Bosnian families, he was able to make a name for himself. People were amazed by his artistic skill and the accuracy he had with spray paint. To further expand on his newly formed fame, he was one of the first b-boys in Iowa. People were in awe once they saw what he could do, he soon became quite well known in the new community.

By 2000 this is when Paco came back to life, his depression was over, and he soon found a new kind of life he could enjoy. He began painting in his garage while still living with his parents and he had made a magnificent collection of paintings in his basement. His obsession with painting drove him to extremes. During winter, he spent hours in the garage with a spray can in his hand, almost suffering from hypothermia. Soon he began looking for new ideas to further test his skills as an artist. He found inspiration in drawing portraits of women and Erotica which has became his new form of art.
